Herbs:The plant acts like NSAID?

We always amazed how some leafs and stems have the ability to cure deadly diseases.The fact is,we donot have neither completely studied nor documented drugs from such magic plants,used in the past.We all may consider that as fatal error what our ancient might have done.
Anyways,lets correct the mistake what our forefathers did and Now Cardionice throws light one such plant which is in use since prehistoric times - BRAHMI

Antiinflammatory effects of an Ayurvedic preparation, Brahmi Rasayan, in rodents.

Findings:

The drug suppressed various experimentally induced inflammatory reactions and did not show any gastric irritation in antiinflammatory doses
  

Explanation:
----------------
1.It may partially mediate its antiinflammatory activity by interfering with the action and/or synthesis of prostaglandins and also perhaps by stabilization of the lysosomal membranes.

 2. Antiinflammatory activity is comparable to that of indomethacin.

In Indian and Southeast Asian centella, the plant frequently suffers from high levels of bacterial contamination, possibly from having been harvested from sewage ditches. Because the plant is aquatic, it is especially sensitive to pollutants in the water, which easily are incorporated into the plant[link].But then,it is endemic in india.

The Plant plays a major role in medicine and the players who play that role are:

Bacoside A and B,Asiaticosides

Bacoside A assists in release of nitric oxide that allows the relaxation of the aorta and veins, to allow the blood to flow more freely through the body. 

Bacoside B is a protein attributed to nourishing the brain cells. 

Asiaticosides stimulate the reticuloendothelial system where new blood cells are formed and old ones destroyed, fatty materials are stored, iron is metabolized, and immune responses and inflammation occur or begin.

It also stimulate the synthesis of lipids and proteins necessary for healthy skin
