Few FACTS about this plant:
It is a herb
Belongs to Lamiaceae family (Mint family).
Also called as Indian Borage
You can just propagate this  plant just through its stem cuttings.
It has aromatic,spiky leaves and the secret lies in this part of the plant.




Alright what all it do,
Decoction of its leaves is administered in cases of chronic cough and asthma[1]
Suggested explanation for that is its Mast cell stabilizing property[2].

In the era of antibiotics,that too when the time of Drug resistance is emerging When some naturally occuring plant shows antibacterial activity it will be amazing ! right?

C.aromaticus exhibits acitivity against human pathogenic Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria’s like Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus cereus, Escherichia coli, and Salmonella enteritidis which are causative agents GIT and RS infections.[3]
Hence it can be used to treat cases of diarrhea and whooping cough,bronchitis caused by these organisms in infected individuals.
It is considered to be an antispasmodic,CNS stimulant and is used for the treatment of headache, fever,and even epilepsy
It is used to treat conditions such as nervous tension, insect bites, toothache, earache, rheumatism.It is also known to be a very powerful painkiller, stimulates flow of bile aiding digestion.[4]


Freeze‐dried aqueous extract of C. aromaticus or simply to say its Powder -clearly established antioxidant potency[5]
C. aromaticus has been used historically for menorrhagia in Trinidad.[6]

ok,how to take it for illness?
  1. Leaf juice is administered in dose of 1-2 teaspoon in children and 1-2 table spoon in adults for fever.
  2. The extract of leaf or leaf is crushed and boiled in water and the steam is inhalled for nasal congestion.
  3. For bronchial asthma and cough decoction of leaves is given in dose of 5-10 ml in children and 20-30 ml in adult.[7]
Everything seems fine, but what about mosquito repellent action?
Fumes of this Herb seems to be effective in pushing mosquitoes,also oil from it can also be used as larvicidal agent.[7]
Cardionice,heard a technique for generating fumes from this plant.
For that few leaves have to be placed in a small cup(amount of leaves and size of cup may vary as per one's well and wish),
